Add Colors to Your Door

Posted by Wilford Ordoñez on Tue, Sep 02, 2014 @ 08:22 AM

A high quality, durable door can look good too. The Overhead Door Company offers a number of options that can improve your door's looks while adding strenght too.

There’s no reason to sacrifice style for the sake of durability! You may think that a door that looks good would be less durable or not as strong as one that is a boring grey, white or beige. However, nothing could be further from the truth. You can add colors to your door while adding strength too.

The Overhead Door Company offers Tiger Drylac Powder Coatings which not only offers you dozens of different color choices while at the same time providing added strength to your door. These coatings can protect your door from sun, rain and other hazards that over time cause a door to fade or lose strength. There is no better solution for you—and with a quick turnaround time too.

You don’t have to stick with that same old boring door color that everyone uses. If you would like to learn more about how we can add color to your doors, contact us at The Overhead Door Company of The Meadowlands & NYC. We can help you choose the right color to enhance the exterior of your building while retaining all the benefits of a well-made, high quality Overhead Door Company door.

Luckily, there is one way you can offer protection without too much added work or stress on your part--having your fire doors drop tested. Testing your fire doors is incredibly important. Consider these four reasons why you need to make it a priority:

  • Safety of Your Staff and Vendors – A well-maintained door that passes our drop test will keep you and those who work around it safe—even in an emergency situation.
  • Long Life of the Door – Our fire door drop test will help find small problems that could turn into big ones. By finding and fixing these issues now, you will assure that the door lasts for years to come.
  • Government Compliance – There are certain requirements that you must meet to assure that you are doing what is necessary to protect your building and its occupants. Our test will make sure you meet the standards put in place by NFPA, IDA, IDEA and UL. This can prevent costly fines or even potential closure.
  • Insurance Requirements – Your private insurance company may have further requirements when it comes to testing your fire door. Our standard drop test will meet or exceed all of these. If not, we’ll work with you to make certain we come up with a solution that does.

Don’t put your business, staff and structure at risk. Scheduling a fire door drop test is easy. Call or contact us at the Overhead Door Company of the Meadowlands & NYC today. We’ll help arrange a time to take care of this important task and put your mind at ease.

Difference Between Insulated and Non-Insulated Sectional Doors

Posted by Elizabeth Aceves on Wed, Jul 24, 2013 @ 05:17 PM

Difference Between Insulated and Non-Insulated Sectional Doors

When you are shopping for commercial doors, the sheer number of choice can be a bit overwhelming. One of the options you may be drawn to are sectional doors. However, even within this industrial door category, you are left with a couple of options. Should you choose an insulated or non-insulated door? Learn more about the two different options and determine which will be the best option for your loading dock, storage area or other commercial door needs.

Sectional Doors

Insulated Sectional Doors

Insulated sectional steel doors are ideal for any business that requires temperature control. This would include facilities such as warehouses, cold storage units, firehouses, restaurants and even municipal buildings. These commercial overhead doors can work to keep cold air out too. This is ideal in the cold New Jersey Winters! Finally, there are other benefits to using an insulated door too. They are generally quieter and sturdier than the non-insulated types.

Secitonal Door

Non-Insulated Sectional Doors

While insulated doors are normally a preferred option. There are certain instances that you may choose one of these non-insulated doors. The up-front cost is often less; however, this may be reduced by the increased energy bills that occur when you have non-insulated doors. The most important thing is to make the right choice for your particular business.

Sectional Door

The Overhead Door Company of the Meadowlands & NYC is always at the forefront of what is new and exciting when it comes to commercial doors. No matter what type of business you own, or exactly what your needs are when it comes to a door and/or commercial operator, you can find exactly what you need here at The Overhead Door Company. In fact, we have just launched a couple of new options in sectional doors that are sure to prove popular, the Sectional Thermacore AP 850 series and the Rolling Steel Stormtite AP 627 Series.

The Sectional Thermacore AP 850 Series is one of the finest Advanced Sectional Doors on the market today. Engineered to deliver advanced performance, this industrial door is ideal for situations where you need climate control, durability, strength and an easy to maintain system. This Thermacore door is a 3-inch-thick insulated sectional door that is rated one of the strongest and most thermally efficient doors on the market, offering the best insulation value per square inch.

Advanced Sectional Door, Thermacore Doors

Additionally, the door is constructed with a dual-barrier that creates a virtually impenetrable path for air leakage and infiltration between door sections, and PVC thermal breaks that reduce heat and cold transfer from front to back of the sections.

Like many of the commercial garage door products available from The Overhead Door Company, the Sectional Thermacore AP 850 series is available in several basic colors, so you can choose the right one for your particular outdoor color scheme. Additional features are available on this door including high-cycle springs, high-usage components, electric commercial operators and other options. This level of design flexibility is one of the most popular features of the Thermacore doors.

It may be that you are more interested in rolling doors or other types of industrial doors. Do not forget to check out the Rolling Steel Stormtite AP 627 Series recently launched as well. Here at The Overhead Door Company, your satisfaction is always our number one concern, so we try to stay ahead of the competition when it comes to offering a variety of options in commercial and industrial doors, operators and the accessories you need for your commercial garage or loading dock area.
