This varies from facility to facility. – Example: many facilities want to regulate air temperature; by allowing the air to flow they avoid hot spots – NOTE: rolling steel doors do not carry an air flow rating, rather the doors provide the open area.** #### **What other factors should be considered when specifying a rolling door with perforation or fenestration? **• Security** – The rolling door/grille provides security against theft or unwanted access • Light infiltration – Allows natural or ambient light through the door and can reduce lighting expenses • Visibility – Allows visual access through door; while still maintaining security. Allows retailers displays to be seen even when they are closed.** ###### **Source: PIB#10459** # **FENESTRATIONS** ![FENESTRATIONS FOR ROLLING STEEL DOORS.jpg](https://www.overhead-doors.com/hs-fs/hubfs/FENESTRATIONS%20FOR%20ROLLING%20STEEL%20DOORS.jpg?width=684&height=514&name=FENESTRATIONS%20FOR%20ROLLING%20STEEL%20DOORS.jpg) # ![ROLLING STEEL PARKING GARAGE-1.jpg](https://www.overhead-doors.com/hs-fs/hubfs/ROLLING%20STEEL%20PARKING%20GARAGE-1.jpg?width=684&height=457&name=ROLLING%20STEEL%20PARKING%20GARAGE-1.jpg) #  [![Request an Estimate](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/167911/07253542-0347-4068-a268-cc71e99954cf.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/167911/07253542-0347-4068-a268-cc71e99954cf) # **PERFORATIONS**   ![PERFORATIONS FOR ROLLING STEEL DOORS.jpg](https://www.overhead-doors.com/hs-fs/hubfs/PERFORATIONS%20FOR%20ROLLING%20STEEL%20DOORS.jpg?width=684&height=510&name=PERFORATIONS%20FOR%20ROLLING%20STEEL%20DOORS.jpg) ![ROLLING STEEL PERFORATED DOOR.jpg](https://www.overhead-doors.com/hs-fs/hubfs/ROLLING%20STEEL%20PERFORATED%20DOOR.jpg?width=684&height=395&name=ROLLING%20STEEL%20PERFORATED%20DOOR.jpg)  [![Request an Estimate](https://no-cache.hubspot.com/cta/default/167911/07253542-0347-4068-a268-cc71e99954cf.png)](https://cta-redirect.hubspot.com/cta/redirect/167911/07253542-0347-4068-a268-cc71e99954cf)  ![perforated_doors-hudson-county-new-jersey-1.jpg](https://www.overhead-doors.com/hs-fs/hubfs/perforated_doors-hudson-county-new-jersey-1.jpg?width=684&height=513&name=perforated_doors-hudson-county-new-jersey-1.jpg) Tags: [rolling steel doors](https://www.overhead-doors.com/overhead-door-blog/topic/rolling-steel-doors), [fenestrations](https://www.overhead-doors.com/overhead-door-blog/topic/fenestrations), [air flow](https://www.overhead-doors.com/overhead-door-blog/topic/air-flow), [open air doors](https://www.overhead-doors.com/overhead-door-blog/topic/open-air-doors), [perforations](https://www.overhead-doors.com/overhead-door-blog/topic/perforations) ## A Division of Loading Dock, Inc. ![Loading Dock Equipment NJ, Loading Dock Equipment NYC](https://www.overhead-doors.com/hs-fs/file-18423535-jpg/images/loading_dock_copy.jpg?width=176&height=80&name=loading_dock_copy.jpg) ### Follow Us [![Facebook Follow Us](https://www.overhead-doors.com/hs-fs/file-18411777-jpg/images/faceboook-logo_small.jpg)](http://www.facebook.com/dockndoor)  [![Twitter follow us](https://www.overhead-doors.com/hs-fs/file-18434740-jpg/images/twitter-logo_small.jpg)](http://www.twitter.com/dockndoor)  [![linkedin logo](https://www.overhead-doors.com/hs-fs/file-296623971-png/images/linkedin_logo.png?width=60&height=60&name=linkedin_logo.png)](http://www.linkedin.com/company/overhead-door-company-of-the-meadowlands-%26-nyc)   [![Pinterest logo](https://www.overhead-doors.com/hs-fs/file-21350970-png/images/pinterest-logo.png?width=56&height=56&name=pinterest-logo.png)](http://pinterest.com/dockndoor/) [![youtube icon](https://www.overhead-doors.com/hs-fs/file-21351602-png/images/youtube.png)](http://www.youtube.com/elizabethdockndoor) ### Subscribe via E-mail ### Most Popular Posts © 2026 Loading Dock Inc. / Overhead Door Company of the Meadowlands & NYC.  All rights reserved.973-471-4060 [Chat with us](https://www.livechatinc.com/chat-with/10701747/), powered by [LiveChat](https://www.livechatinc.com/?welcome)
